Ryan Adams

So ive become obsessed with this fellow and his oh so beautiful music. His name is Ryan Adams and he is from North Carolina,he has a style all his own,and is a brilliant song writer.I love him so much that I couldn't just pick one song so i picked one original and one cover. the first one is 'Wonderwall' by Oasis which i think he does better than the original and the second is his own song 'Winding wheel'.

My Lame Poetry.

California.

California here i come. Orange pacific sun.
California if I knew id be there with you.
California.

California why they say
some day you'll drift away?
California dyed in truth
You're a place I never knew.
California.

California never grow old.
Take me away from where it's cold.
California stay the same.
as all else begins to change.
California.

California now i know.
I want to be every place but home.
The east coast aint for me.
Its you I want to see.

California

80's maybe?

I am complaining again. My rant is about this whole retro thing and i dig old tunes myself and all that good stuff but some people are taking their 80's nostalgia to a really annoying level. i really cant stand the fact that no matter where i go in the damn city I see guys with high top fades, swishy tracksuits and girls with side ponytails and legwarmers. Please lets let the past be just that. Lets try to be creative here and make new trends that in 20 years from now people with try to recreate. I just feel like there is a lack of creativity and risk when one is dressing like someone from the past. Why isnt nostalgia considered a mental disorder? I mean it is someone who idealizes the past(in most cases a past they've never lived)and idealize that time so much they want to dress up in a costume and walk around as if the past is the present. I mean you have to be completely insane to think that acid wash jeans are/were EVER cool. I think that people are so depressed with their lives that they wished 2008 where 1988. Times are hard and things are difficult but its been a beautiful year and a beautiful time and I think that if you are dressing like something out of a Spike Lee movie in a sense you are saying you are ashamed; that you dont want to acknowledge this time, the present. I think it would be dope, fly, funky fresh if we would all just stop it with the whole 80's thing. (fanny pack? WTF?!)

Goals for 2009

So,
these are my goals for the year to come.

3) Try to tell the ones i love that i love them. Every single day

4) Have better study habits

5) Write more music

6) Become more financially independentdant

7) Become aware of who is out to help me and who is out to hurt me.

8) Practice yoga.

9) Be more organized

Those are all i have right now but im sure there will be more to come.

Get Your Own!

Will some one please explain to me why people
think it is okay to read over someone else's shoulder
on the public transit? Today i am on the Metro and this
guy behind me is just over my shoulder reading the news
paper which i poses. He isnt even trying to be subtle at all
so i ask him very kindly "Sir I don't mean to be rude but do
you mind backing up a bit" and he says sure. so i am thinking
it is all good and i go back to reading my paper. Then this prick
decided that since my eyes are focused on the paper (and i wont
feel him breathing on my neck?)that it is okay to resume reading
MY paper. So now im really pissed off i just tell him to "back the fuck
up!". I just want to know where these people get off thinking its okay. I mean is the newspaper that expensive now that you cant purchase your own? From now on any person i see looking over my shoulder trying to read that days news is going to get a rolled up newspaper to the side of their dome. That is exactly how i am going these days. Jeez, just get shell out the 45 cents it cost to get one and buy your own paper

World AIDS Day.

OK,
so yesterday was world AIDS day and it made me think.Think about
all those people(the 33 million people)who are living with the disease.
It also made me think about the 25 million people who have died from AIDS since 1981. when people speak about AIDS they always talk
about the statistics but we rarely talk about the people who are living
with the virus. In August of 2005 i lost a close relative of mine to AIDS. It was my cousin and she was full of life and had her whole life ahead of her and she was robbed of her life. Now she is gone and her children are without a mother and it could have essentially all been avoided. I believe the only way the world can "cure" HIV/AIDS is to educate the people on protection and the importance of waiting to have sex and not being afraid to say 'no'. No to being a victim, no to the that someone who is forcing you to do something you dont want to do. Also not being afraid to say 'yes' to being educated, and yes to getting tested, and yes to loving yourself enough to say no sometimes.
